Best for: moderate behavioural challenges, or owners wanting more advanced control and reliability.

GMC K9 started as an idea when I got my Labrador, Charlie. I've loved dogs since I was young, but Charlie is when the training bug really burst into life, and I've been heavily invested in the space ever since.
I've invested a lot of time learning from the best in the industry, and I keep educating myself. In dog training, as soon as you think you know everything, you'll soon be proven you know very little.
I train the dog in front of me, because one method that works great for one dog may not work so well for another.

What is balanced dog training?
Training that focuses on relationship and leadership, using the approach that works best for the individual dog rather than one fixed method.
Should I choose 1-2-1 sessions or board & train?
1-2-1 suits owners who want to learn the system and work on goals together. Board & train is an intensive option for dogs who need more time and structure: 4 weeks for moderate challenges, 6 weeks for severe reactivity, aggression or anxiety, or fully off-lead obedience.
Do you work with aggressive or reactive dogs?
Yes. Severe behavioural issues such as reactivity and aggression towards dogs or people are a core part of the work. See Loki, Benji and Teddy's case videos.
Do you do home visits?
Yes. Home visits start from £75 for the Bangor, Newtownards & Comber area. Further afield, the price varies with location.
Is board & train suitable for my dog?
Board & train is suitable for puppies, adult dogs and dogs with severe behavioural issues. Get in touch with your dog's age and what you're working on and I'll recommend the right option.
What happens after training ends?
Every program includes a detailed handover session, follow-up support and guidance for maintaining progress. Clients also get 24/7 WhatsApp access to keep me updated and ask questions.
